We believe God calls every Christian to be involved in fulfilling the Great Commission. Some are called and willing to go; others are called to stay and send those going. It takes a team of people to send one missionary. People who intercede in prayer on their behalf as well as those who give of their financial resources make it possible for missionaries to go. The ministries listed to the right are missionaries and organizations that OPWC supports. Click on each to discover how they are being the hands and feet of Jesus around the world!
The Wesleyan Church of Orchard Park supports many workers, missionaries and ministries here and abroad. A missions budget of $84,000 is no small undertaking for a congregation our size, but considering the number of lives that are positively touched through the ministries we support, giving sacrificially is a great joy.
Funds for our missions budget are raised primarily in two ways. One, our church gives 10% of our general budget towards the missions budget, but this is not enough to cover the full range of ministries we support.
The remaining funds for our missions budget are raised through Faith Promise giving. Faith Promise giving is when a believer looks to the Lord "in faith" asking how much he would have the believer give; then promises to give as the Lord directs.
Faith Promise giving is above and beyond regular tithes. A Faith Promise is not a pledge made to the church, but an agreement between a believer and God as to how much they trust God to provide and in turn hem give towards missions.
If you would like to make a Faith Promise committment, a special committment card is available at the Welcome Center in the sanctuary foyer. Fill it out and drop it in the offering plate. It's now time to watch, pray and see how the Lord provides.
